Every sports game has a certain set of rules, without which any competition is considered meaningless. It is important to tell your child the basic rules of football at the earliest stages of his or her introduction to the game:
- It is important to explain to the little player the main goal of football – to score as many goals as possible against your opponent.
- The game involves two teams that take to the field at the same time.
- You can score a goal with different parts of the body, except for the hands. It can be a leg, body, head.
- Only the player standing on the goal – the goalkeeper – can touch the ball with his hands.
- The game lasts two halves, each lasting 45 minutes. There is a 15-minute break between the first and second halves.
- The referee is responsible for making sure that the players follow all the above rules and for counting the goals scored.
There are some rules that are punishable if violated:
It is forbidden to hit your opponent on purpose. Intentional pushing, kicking, or hitting with the body, legs, or hands is considered physical contact. To prevent the opponent from grabbing the ball, a player can only cover it from the other player’s eyes with his body, without using his hands.
You can not roll directly under the feet of your opponent. Only the ball may be kicked without touching the feet of the other player.
In case of violation of these rules, both the player and his entire team may be penalized. In the first situation, the player receives a red or yellow card and may be removed from the field of play. If the referee punishes the entire team, then the opponents have the right to shoot from the penalty area at their goal.
It is important to explain to your child at the beginning of the game that it is forbidden for a football player to get into an argument with the referee or to start a fight on the field with other players.
